Aruvikuzhi
Aruvikuzhi or Aruvikkuzhy in Kottayam district is a lovely picnic spot and a perfect shooting location for movies. Aruvikkuzi Waterfalls is located 18 km from Kottayam district and 2 kms down a mud lane from Kumarakom. The mystic waterfalls of Aruvikuzhi fall in five steps, is a real feast for the eyes. Here streams build their way through the landscape and the water roars as it cascades down the mountains from a height of one hundred foot. It is a perfect place for trekking . Around one km from here, is Pallickathod , a stretch of rubber plantations along the sides of Aruvikuzhi. The well known St. Mary’s Church is set at the top of the waterfalls. Aruvikuzhi is one of the fine looking places in Kottayam district. Here the stream while passing through the lovely landscapes creating their way, water roars as they go down the mountains from a height of one hundred feet. The tourists can even relish the shade of rubber plantations here.
